December 3 now has a monster RPG and a delayed Dawn of War fighting for the same evening
One delay has turned a fairly quiet December date into a peculiar choice. Players can spend December 3 breeding stronger Dragon Quest creatures or rebuilding a Blood Ravens base while Orks are taking the resource point next door.
The Withered World was already booked for December
DRAGON QUEST MONSTERS: The Withered World launches December 3 across Switch, Switch 2, PS5, Xbox Series X|S and PC. Bianca and Nera are the two fledgling monster wranglers at the center of it.
Scouting is only the start of the party-building loop. Monsters have individual traits and learnable talents, and two creatures can be combined through synthesis to produce something stronger or potentially an entirely new species.
Nintendo says there are hundreds of monsters to discover. Square Enix also lets any recruited creature follow the party through the world regardless of its type or size.

The online side includes competitive tournaments and friendlier battles. Steam lists online PvP, co-op and cross-platform multiplayer, while the Xbox version supports cross-platform play and Xbox Play Anywhere.
Then Dawn of War IV moved in
Deep Silver announced on August 12 that Warhammer 40,000: Dawn of War IV would no longer release September 17. Its new date is December 3, with Commander Edition access beginning November 30.
KING Art is using that extra development period after a sequence of community playtests. The publisher's current release update does not attach a list of individual fixes to the delay.
The scope at launch is still substantial: more than 70 campaign missions, four mechanically distinct factions, competitive multiplayer, Skirmish and Last Stand.
It is very deliberately a base-building Dawn of War
Bases and resource points matter again. Players expand production, capture territory, upgrade squads and use cover or garrisonable structures to keep units alive rather than treating every encounter as a self-contained tactical arena.
The Adeptus Mechanicus makes its playable series debut with a Noosphere Network that must be extended across important resource locations. Necrons rely on resilience and resurrection mechanics. Orks spread aggressively and use multiple strongholds.

Space Marines form the fourth mechanically distinct faction. Their campaign includes both the Blood Ravens and Dark Angels, with Deep Silver describing the latter as a playable sub-faction rather than a separate fifth faction.
Units that survive gain power through veterancy. Sync Kills also return, with KING Art's Combat Director controlling the close-range finishing animations.
Premium editions make the collision slightly uneven
Dawn of War IV Commander Edition players start on November 30. Its Year One package includes the Blood Ravens Story Prologue, the Aftermath campaign expansion with another faction and the digital soundtrack.
Dragon Quest Monsters Digital Deluxe buyers receive 48 hours of early access and begin on December 1.
The hardware split is much simpler
Dawn of War IV is currently a Windows PC release on Steam.
The Withered World covers Switch, Switch 2, PS5, Xbox Series X|S and PC. Both standard editions are scheduled for December 3, 2026.
